Denmark's largest agility competition for dogs in 2012 will be Jutlandia Cup.
As in previous years the Cup takes place in week 29, ie from Monday 16th July to Saturday 21th July. Registration for Jutlandia Cup is expected to take place from 1st Februar 2012.
The place is the same as in 2009 - the magnificent Vingsted Center at Vejle. A fine place for summer holiday for the whole family. See more on Vingsted.
An important change is that another dog organization, the DcH (Danish civilian dog handlers association) instead of DKK (Danish Kennel Club), is behind the competition. As a result, no international certificates are distributed. The DcH has years ago joined the rules of FCI/DKK, meaning the agility rules are those of FCI/DKK.
In the summer 2012 plans are to have a Team competition too. To get instant up-to-date information about the cup, please sign up for our newsletter.
Compared to previous years, there will be a few changes/news for handlers. Among others, the following:
The reason for upgrading to 4 runs per day is that Jutlandia Cup thereby is accepted as qualification show for the Danish championships (DcH). Expectedly, Monday, Wednesday and Friday are qualifying days. This does however not affect foreign handles to compete equally in the qualification races.
The downside is that the show can not be as well attended as previously, where there was only 3 runs/dog per day. There will still be three courses and total number of starts will be approx. 1.100 per day. Registration Deadline is thus gathered around 5500 race.
Just to make sure there is not uncertainty about who can participate, we could like to inform our foreign participants that no legitimate organization can prevent their members or issue penalties against members, if they participate in foreign not FCI shows, The European Court of Justice has ruled.
During the week we offer a team competition - instead of one of the open classes that day. A team consists of 3-4 dogs, with at least two different handlers, that start succession in a chosen sequence. The team must have a name, and all dogs in the team must start in same size (small, medium or large) dogs in either Class 1, 2, or 3. Senior dogs are not allowed to join team competition. The team can be put together across the clubs and countries. With 4 dogs on a team, the 3 best results is used to calculate the team ranking (total time and error points).
After the last competition of the day the prize awards takes place accompanied by beers and soft drinks
